Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of our more commonly asked questions. If you don’t find your answer her, please feel free to contact us and we will surely help you out.

What is the lead time for orders?

Generally orders are received within 3 weeks. If you are on a specific time line, please get in touch with us, and we’ll see what we can do to expedite your order.

Samples are generally received in about a week.

What does shipping cost?

Shipping is free for orders over $200.
Orders less than $200 , shipping is flat rate of $19.95
Samples include free shipping

Where are your products made?

Our tiles are proudly made in Canada. We do not stock any tile and each order is made as per your request.

Is there any duty as the shipment is outside of USA?

We cater to American customers so there is no duty, or any other hidden charges.

What happens if anything breaks during shipping?

We ship A LOT of tile! Generally nothing breaks. That said, occasionally packages do get mis-handled and breakage does happen. Rest assured this happens to us extremely rarely. In the rare event of breakage, please let us know right away, (before your installation starts!), and we will replace your broken items for you no problem.

What adhesive should be used?

For dry locations such as backsplashes or feature walls, Mastic is ok.
If you are installing in wet area such us a shower or bathtub surround, a modified thinset must be used.

What are your grout recommendations?

The only specific recommendation we make for grout is to use un-sanded grout.

How is the tile cut?

The tile can be cut using a power saw with a diamond blade for glass, or it can be cut using the score and snap method. Score and snap is preferred and will work for most of the cuts. Please see the following link for a detailed video on how to cut glass tile.

Can these be used in a shower, bathub surround, sauna, etc?

Yes absolutely! Our tiles are made of glass, so they do not absorb moisture, they are chemically resilient and the colors kiln fired so they will not fade.

What color grout should I choose?

Choose a color that is slightly off white, with a hue and shade towards the color of your tile.

Can the color be customized?

Yes. All of our tiles are made to order so we can make them any color you like. That said, simple shifts in tone or shade can be easily done. However, if you are trying to match a specific color, this can also be done albeit the process is a little bit different.

What sizes do you offer?

We have a wide range of popular sizes and style that will suit most needs. All the size options are shown on the respective product page. If you want something special, no problem – just reach out to us and we can get them made for you.

Are these suitable for hot areas like fireplaces and backsplashes behind the oven?

Yes no problem! Our tiles are kiln fired to over 1500 degrees Fahrenheit so these will not be affected by any heat created by stove top of fireplace surround. That said, please make sure your substrate is adequately built to compensate for expansion and contraction.
